3:37 PM - xBus Remember last week or so, i commented on how StCum, the Montreal public transit, had allowed major cross-stop Berri-UQAM to be taken over by xBox? Lots of free gaming on the day of the console release, as long as you paid for your ride. Well that's not all; as i walked back from a pleasant coffee & bagel at the cafe next door i saw an xBus, a bus all decked out like some post-apocalyptic FPS. "Oh, a touring bus to promote xBox," I thought. Nope' she pulled over and picked up the passengers on the corner -- it was a StCum bus all modded to green hell. Whew, so if quebec business is so easily for sale, where is the french only logo ;)
Speaking of xBox here is a "green screen of death". Oh and was it any surprise that one of the first games released for xBox was called Crash ?? It kills your search engine top searches for such screens.
Speaking of Quebec and its french language laws i saw something that pissed me off to no end. Taking all language laws with a grain of salt, i saw all the English beers & ales on the shelf of the local SAQ, labelled over with white french labels. Printed from someone's laser, these labels only targeted those imported bottles that said "English Beer" or "English Ale". The other countries, with labels printed only in English as well, were left alone. Why do they have to attack my beer as well?

1:13 AM - *ahem*
I am only blogging this because it is following a theme of poop that J has heard going around at work. Started with the mention of a book about world animal poop with extremely well done photography. Then it went to a poop snapshot page that i will blog once i get the link. Lastly there was a mention of one of the on-air personalities being quite open about her poop, quality and frequency being her particular interests. So i thought this TurdTwister.com would be helpful.

10:22 PM - they suck I actually think girls are Ee-vuhl but i will reconcile that Girls Suck.
|
11:10 AM - kpmg followup Thus the web news outlets discover the KPMG (not linking cuz i don't wanna get sewed ;) link silliness. Wired does a pretty straight forward article. GMPK is left sounding like a child justifying its temper tantrum - "its our policy and we will send letters if we want to..." I don't think it is because they don't understand "how the web works" i just think they are overwhelmed with their own glory and believe they can set web policy. But i am sure they appreciate the hits they are recieving -- they will end up as a statistic at some marketing teams' board meeting.
Has anyone also noticed that they have one the most annoying, silly Flash Splashes out there?

11:00 AM - reading on the web I love reading on the Palm but reading on the web takes some more getting used to. The Morning News does a roundtable discussion about writing and reading on the web. I read the first question, skimmed through the answers and blogged it. I guess that says something for me.

12:15 PM - tiny sex Its sex week at Tiny Blog, go read some stories but drop all your tiny jokes -- its not THAT kinda place.

11:42 AM - *frowns mightily*
I will delete those xTra posts below once Blogger actually updates the Posts window properly.

11:40 AM - hacker smacker Did a new hacking utitility come online lately? i got a ton of DoS attacks last night while i was playing Counterstrike. Hacking Kiddiez make me sigh and shake my head.

11:23 AM - times grows fungus When I first glanced at this chicken to ride, i was washed over with a yawn and a feeling that it had to happen sooner or later -- rip offs of Hyakugjyuuichi and other better Flash weirdness. But then i watched it again and again and again. And it IS chicken.
My tribute to a beatle even if it isn't the right one. I think the Cube is right.

12:28 AM - obligatory smile This is my nod to shodown.net, yet another in a line of grungy collaged sites. But y'know i like it don't ya? I should start compiling some sort of pithy commentary to go along with my appreciation of these sites but really i respect them like i do gallery art, briefly and i don't read the lil note down the bottom. I just stop, smile for a while and carry on.

1:05 PM - hacked again Urrgh. IE 6.0 is one bloody pain in the ass. Its been hacked once again on my machine, probably by me stupidly searching warez sites. If I type, "auto.search.msn.com" in the address bar I get redirected to a porn site. Does anyone know how to strip this out??

11:21 AM - paper fun We, as in those who read my weblog and make very detailed notes as to my likes and dislikes so as to stalk me until they drive my battered old station wagon into a frozen lake, know that I like paper products. Paper toys, postcards, letter paper, etc. But no origami. No that is too obvious. But I do like finger puppets such as the B3TA finger crab.
Also from B3TA, come a good list of the Flash insanity types i often link to.

9:57 AM - determination Something has become apparent in all these weeks of scanning job sites and Usenet for gainful employment. And it is that tor.jobs gives me one hell of a headache. In general, the use of Usenet is simple -- a list of messages which expand into an email like message. But somewhere along the line the Subject Header seems to have expanded into hellacious lengths. Mass Posting, Cross Posting, ranking characters and eye-catching characters have replaced concise descriptions of the message. Job Agencies climb all over each other posting the same 300 postings every three days. I am sure the real jobs often get lost in the morass. I know I do.

9:45 AM - *shakes head* chris raettig tells us that KPMG requires a Formal Agreement for you to link to their webpage. I think someone misinformed them as to their ownership of the www.
[fr. kottke, who i also do not have a formal agreement with]

5:04 PM - Ignoring Time Cube is evil I am sure this is all from a TimeLord who has become a little confused in his old age. Who else would have such wisdom as, "Where are Indian newscasters?" and "Cubes are varied and imperfect as are their human composites" and lest we forget, "People can live without word and cubeless word is a poison that destroys all civilizations."
Now my head hurts.

2:50 AM - another interest When I wake up I am also going to have to take a peeky at this d.i.a.r.y by a wench.
|
2:44 AM - comin' home D&D until 2am on a Sunday is one more of the benefits of being unemployed. While i sleep in tomorrow, the other poor saps go into work cranky. And when I wake up, i believe i will give spotted.radio cuz i need a new net radio fix.

1:10 PM - reminding me Haughey is one of those people even more deserving of employment than i am, and yet he is still somewhat at ease. Thus i quote a positive thing about today:- Diablo II until 4am; Act III Complete with only one death.
- Crepes at 1pm
- D&D at 4pm.
- and the kitchen is still clean.
I stayed in bed until i dreamed again, letting my horrible mood be cured by sitting on the banks of a canal in paris, then realizing it was a dream, waking in said dream and making breakfast with J and a female who i believe doesn't care much for me. I don't know why she was there but she is of a pleasant sort, J and her get along well and she helped load the dishwasher as I made crepes. J and her conversed casually as i buzzed about in my pre-coffee silence. Crepes on and i woke up. We don't have a nite guest or a dishwasher. But the dishes are still washed.
